If your drivers/ vehicle travel on set routes for all trips you can define the routes within the platform and alert when the driver/ vehicle deviates from assigned routes.
Creating Routes
First you will need to define the routes, there are two options available;
Option 1) Using Google Maps recommend or fastest route from A to B
- Right click on the Live Map where you would like to the route to begin, the option to 'Route From Here' will show. Click on this option.
- The location you have selected will appear in the start point and you can type in the address of the end point and select the relevant address from the list.
- Two routes will be displayed - the recommended (fastest) in red and the shortest in grey. Select chosen route by clicking on the relevant option under the start and end location points, then choose Save Route.
- You will then be prompted to give the route a friendly name and assign to Cost Centre and Group (if you do not have these setup please select Default options).
- The route is now created and available to assign to assets, or manage from the Zones section in the Administration tab.
Option 2) Mapping out a unique route line from Live Map
- Click to expand the tools in the top right hand corner of the Live Map screen. Then click the create zones icon and choose 'Draw a route line'
- You will then be able to draw your route on the map by clicking and moving mouse to fit the street.
- Once you have completed your route select Finish to jump to Route details screen where you can enter a friendly name and assign to Cost Centres and Groups (if you don't have these set up please choose default options).
Assigning routes to Drivers/ Vehicles
Once the routes are created you can then assign the relevant routes to the Driver/ Vehicle in the Asset section in the Administration tab.
- Enter the Administration tab and select Asset from the secondary menu, then select the Driver/ Vehicle you wish to assign the route to.
- Navigate to the Events section, then scroll down to Geographical Triggers.
- Type in the friendly name of the route or click the plus sign to add All Routes
- Click Save
Creating a Route Deviation Alert
Now you have defined your routes and allocated these routes to Drivers/ Vehicle you need to set up the alert to notify you if your Driver/ Vehicle drives outside of these routes.
- Navigate to the Administration tab and select Alerts.
- Click the plus icon to add new alert.
- Name the alert Route Deviation
- Select your chosen Cost Centre and Priority.
- Choose the following options for the Event filter as follows:
- Actor - Driver/ vehicle
- Action - Exit Zone
- Target - Any Route
- Select who you would like to Notify and then click Save
You will now be alerted to a Driver/ Vehicles deviating from their assigned routes.
Managing Routes
You can edit the Cost Centres, Groups, rename of delete Routes by navigation to the Administration tab, and selecting Zone.
- Use the filters to reduce the list to Routes and select any chosen Route, then click the pen and pen icon to edit the details
- Delete routes by choosing the bin icon in the top right hand corner.
